You also make a very good point Most barbarians are HULK SMASH types because that's just easy and "fun" to play, though it is not typically fun to play WITH those characters/players. I am NOT looking forward to seeing what her new character is going to be like.įor starters, a disclaimer: You are entirely entitled to your opinion and I respect it. In this one, the same player is (well, WAS: the character just died this past Saturday because a giant skeleton snake thing one-shot crit her) a Tiefling Rogue, again Chaotic Neutral, and has several times said that her character's pretty much going to be Jack Sparrow. It gets very annoying very quickly.Īnother friend of mine is running a 5e campaign. Chaotic Neutral, so "lol random" such as "speaking in lolcat" from time to time, ordering flagons of cream from the bartender while sitting on the ceiling (DM let us each start with a minor magic item, she chose Slippers of Spider Climbing), wanting to eat EVERY corpse of EVERY enemy/creature we kill, constantly trying to loot EVERYTHING and pickpocket EVERYONE, and from time to time going "meow" at random times. So, one friend of mine is running a 3.5 campaign, and she's playing a Catfolk Rogue named "_ the Kawaii". I know it's not the class' fault, but I still make that negative association subconsciously. It's not so much that I hate Rogues, it's just that the only player who plays rogues that I've played with has played them in the most teeth-grindingly irritating way.
